Justin’s remarkable ability to transform pictures into immortalised moments started from a humble trip to Mount Bromo in 2012. The iconic mountain was initially only well-known for its beautiful sunrises, but his 12-day journey sparked a slew of stunning captures of the incredible Milky Way, turning the faint hazy bundle of light into a vividly glowing masterpiece which he had shared, along with his trip experience, generously with a group of photography enthusiasts during his Incredible Time-Lapse Seminar organised by Canon Singapore.

His striking original works were then picked up by world-famous networks, from National Geographic to BBC and CNN, paving the way for future astrophotography expeditions as he continued to seize the world’s hearts with spectacular filmography. After these features, Mount Bromo has been coined as one of the top destinations for avid travellers, stargazers and astrophotographers today.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Embark on an astrophotography adventure and be captivated by the splendour of her night skies and landscape. The day begins in Surabaya with a mini-bus trip to the Cemoro Lawang Village. As the dusk settles, we will start with a warm-up astrophotography shoot before we start hunting for the Milky Way after dinner. Look out of the bus windows and hold your breath, as the sight of the majestic Milky Way will greet you!

Day 2 - Get prepared to rise and shine before dawn, as we will head up to Mount Penanjakan (the peak). Standing at a towering 9,088 feet above the sea, get captivated by the breath-taking view of the sunrise to the east of Mount Bromo, Mount Semeru and Mount Batok. Afterwards, get ready for a brief horse ride up to the crater of Mount Bromo. In the afternoon, venture out to the villages to capture farms and cottages followed by a sunset shoot.

Day 3 - It is time to flaunt your astrophotography skills, as it is the last night for you to catch the stunning night scene of Mount Bromo against the starry skies and capture the beautiful deep sky objects using our equipment. Keep it up, as we will stay throughout till the sunrise. Bid farewell to beautiful Mount Bromo and Home Sweet Home.

Note: Depending on the weather condition, the above itinerary is subject to change because we want to ensure you're always at the right place and at the right time to capture the essence of Mount Bromo. You are only allowed to ascend to Mount Bromo's crater rim if it is deemed to be safe to do so by the authorities.

Inclusions

2 nights shared accommodation with basic amenities is chosen based on proximity to our shooting location and not for comfort. Participants are expected to rough it out during the astrophotography tour. If weather condition is very favorable, we may shoot from sunset till sunrise.
